World class procurement organisations have done their part in driving savings over the past decade, but there are diminishing returns to traditional approaches. In the decade ahead, procurement organizations must increase their level of partnership with business leaders while providing sustainable value that extends beyond cost savings. Strategic category management (SCM) is an approach that aligns procurement activities with business objectives and helps enable this partnership aspiration.

The upcoming CIPS webinar will build a case for developing or enhancing a SCM programme. The session will be delivered by Bruno Khan and Joel Johnson from GEP. GEP is a market leading provider of end-to-end procurement services and technology. As part of the Webinar, Joel and Bruno will discuss why SCM is needed, what it entails and how to get started with a SCM programme. The session will be grounded in real-world examples and participants will have the opportunity to share their inputs.

At the end of the Webinar, participants should have a clear understanding of how SCM can add value as compared to traditional sourcing approaches. We hope you can join us for this upcoming session.
